A festival doesn’t happen just by itself – the Big City Blues crew needs a lot of helping hands during the festival to get everything running.
We’re searching for multiple super volunteers, a creative supporting the media team and plenty of volunteers. Have a look at what suits you best. Any help is welcome!
Supervolunteers
You would like to be part of the team of Big City Blues during the festival? Wonderful <3
We are looking for a team of supervolunteers to join us, the main organization team, in the beauty and craziness behind Big City Blues. This means some hard work, but also a lot of fun, inspiration, teamwork and excitement! When off duty, you will have time for dancing, music and joining the festival.
Every supervolunteer will be assigned one big task over the 3 days of the festival, as well as help out during build-up and break-down. The task will either happen throughout the day or during the evenings of the festival. We will divide the task packages before the festival, and make sure that everyone gets to do a job they like. Because the most important thing of course is that you like your work, and that you have a good time during the festival!
You will be involved for around 20 hours spread over 4 days, depending on the workload of your task. Additionally, just like the main organization team, you might be asked to jump in for some other small jobs that come up unexpectedly.
If you would like to join, you need to be available in Ghent from Friday morning February 14th till Monday February 17th evening.

Media team support
Are you a Creative with experience in the field of social media, photography, videography or podcasting? We are looking for at least one person to reinforce our media team.
Your task could include one or more of the following:
- posting stories on Instagram during the parties
- taking pictures of the workshops during the day
- creating reels for social media
- filming competitions and performances with a steady camera
- conducting interview with inspirers in audio and optionally video
- recording and editing audio materials for a podcast episode
- recording the talks in image and sound for an educational video
Based on your skillset, preferences and workload, we offer in return:
- the same benefits as a supervolunteer (see above)
- a payment to cover your work and expenses (for freelancers only)

Volunteers
There will be short and longer volunteer shifts available. A few weeks before the festival starts, you can sign up for 1 or more shifts. In return you get our big gratitude and drink/snack vouchers.
